Lignomat mini-Ligno E/D Overview

The mini-Ligno E/D is a compact pin-type wood moisture meter built for users who want a direct wood reading without a large set of advanced functions. Lignomat positions it for woodworking, cabinetmaking, wood floors, lumber drying, pallets, firewood and general building maintenance.

The meter uses built-in pins that are pushed into the wood. A switch between the pins turns the instrument on automatically, so measurements are quick and there is little setup beyond selecting the appropriate wood group.

6–45% Range for Wood and Flooring

Lignomat specifies a 6% to 45% measuring range. The lower end is particularly relevant to conditioned wood and hardwood flooring, while the upper end allows the same meter to evaluate much wetter lumber.

For floor installers, a moisture meter is most useful when readings are taken across multiple boards and compared with the expected conditions for the project rather than treating one board as representative of an entire delivery.

Two Wood Group Corrections

The E/D includes two settings that cover softwoods, hardwoods and panel products. These corrections help account for broad differences in electrical behavior between wood groups.

Users who work with a very wide range of domestic and tropical species may prefer a model with more individual species settings, but the E/D keeps the workflow intentionally simple.

Short and Long Pins Included

The standard meter includes two pairs of pins with measuring depths of approximately 3/16 inch and 7/16 inch. Short pins are useful for surface or thin-material readings, while the longer set reaches farther into the wood.

For measurements deeper than the integral pins can reach, Lignomat recommends one of its C-series meters with a connector for external electrodes rather than the standard E/D.

A Practical Wood-Focused Pin Meter

The E/D includes an automatic calibration check, auto shutoff and a bright LED display. Lignomat provides a two-year warranty on the meter and a lifetime warranty on the display.

It is best suited to users who primarily measure wood and want portability and reliability. If drywall, concrete, deep wall cavities or non-destructive scanning are regular requirements, a multi-material or pinless meter is a better fit.
