Lignomat mini-Ligno DX/C Overview

The mini-Ligno DX/C is Lignomat’s most feature-rich pocket-size pin meter in the mini-Ligno family. It is intended for flooring, woodworking, cabinetmaking, veneer production, building inspection and restoration work where users may need to move between many wood species and several building materials.

The meter combines built-in contact pins with a connector for optional external electrodes. This gives it a broader working range than a basic pocket pin meter, especially when measurements need to reach beneath floor planks or into harder-to-access building components.

42 Wood, Bamboo and Panel Settings

The DX/C provides 42 settings for domestic and tropical wood species, bamboo and engineered panel products. Its 5% to 65% wood range extends low enough for dry hardwood flooring and high enough for wetter lumber.

For flooring professionals who encounter different wood species, bamboo and engineered products, the broader correction library can be more useful than a meter that only divides wood into one or two general groups.

Drywall and Building-Material Modes

Three additional settings are provided for gypsum, drywall and different wall boards. A separate 0–99 reference scale is available for non-wood materials such as concrete, brick, plastic and insulation.

The reference scale is best used for search-and-compare work. It can help identify areas that respond differently from a known dry baseline, but it should not be confused with a dedicated quantitative concrete moisture-content scale.

External Electrodes for Floors and Inspection

The C-version includes a connector for external electrodes. Lignomat’s optional E12 depth electrode can be used for deeper wood measurements and can reach subfloors without removing floor planks in suitable situations.

Other optional electrodes extend the meter into wall, ceiling, roof and restoration investigations. These accessories are not included with the basic D-1 meter, but they make the platform more expandable than the standard mini-Ligno models.

Who Should Choose the DX/C?

The DX/C is particularly attractive to users who want one compact pin meter for detailed wood work plus drywall and comparative building-material checks. Its automatic calibration check and bright LED display support regular field use.

For users who only test one or two wood types, the extra settings may be unnecessary. Likewise, dedicated concrete testing or fast non-destructive surface scanning is better handled by a specialized concrete or pinless meter.
