Protimeter Aquant BLD5770 Overview

The Protimeter Aquant BLD5770 is a non-invasive moisture meter designed for rapidly locating areas of elevated moisture in buildings without puncturing the surface. It uses a radio-frequency measurement system to detect moisture below and behind many common building materials, making it especially useful for surveys where large areas need to be checked efficiently.

Because there are no pins to insert, the Aquant can be moved across walls, floors and finished surfaces while leaving them intact. This makes it a practical first-line tool for restoration, building inspection and flooring-related moisture investigation.

Pinless Moisture Detection up to 3/4 Inch Deep

The Aquant can detect moisture to approximately 3/4 inch below the surface. That depth allows the meter to look beyond surface conditions and identify changes within or behind materials such as drywall, wood, concrete and other building products.

Protimeter notes that the non-invasive measurement is not adversely affected by surface moisture such as condensation. This can be helpful when the goal is to search for moisture within a material rather than react only to what is happening directly on its face.

The Aquant is intended for use across wood, drywall, building materials and concrete. It can also search beneath floor and wall coverings such as ceramic tile and vinyl, which makes it relevant to flooring inspection and water-damage work.

The BLD5770 uses a relative pinless scale rather than presenting every material as an absolute moisture-content percentage. The current model provides a 60 to 1000 relative measurement range.

Bluetooth Data Logging and Documentation

Bluetooth connectivity allows readings to be saved through the Protimeter Connect app with time and date information. For restoration and inspection projects, this creates a clearer record of where moisture was found and how conditions change over time.

When the same site is revisited after drying or repair work, stored readings can help support a more consistent comparison than relying only on handwritten notes.

Automatic Calibration and Field Calibration

The latest Aquant includes an automatic calibration check as well as user field calibration for the non-invasive measurement mode. These features support repeated professional use and help users verify that the instrument remains ready for survey work.

The large backlit display is designed for easy reading, while the two-AA-battery power system is straightforward to maintain in the field.

A Strong Choice for Non-Destructive Moisture Mapping

The Protimeter Aquant is most useful when the priority is speed, coverage and preserving the surface being inspected. It is especially well suited to building surveys, fire and flood restoration, floor moisture checks and situations where a pin meter would leave too many test marks.

It is not a replacement for every specialized moisture test.
