The QEP 10020 uses a double-sided carbide head with 1/16-inch, 1/8-inch and 3/16-inch tips to remove unwanted grout, thinset, calcium and mortar. The reversible head provides additional usable scraping edges before replacement is needed.
The QEP 10020 is a manual carbide grout removal tool aimed at tile repair and cleanup work. Its main advantage is the three-tip head, which gives the same tool different working widths for common grout joints.
The head includes approximately 1/16-inch, 1/8-inch and 3/16-inch carbide tips. This allows the user to select a scraping width that better matches the grout line instead of trying to force one oversized blade into every joint.
The head is double sided. When one side becomes dull, it can be removed, flipped and reinstalled, extending the usable life of the tool.
QEP also positions the 10020 for removing thinset, mortar, calcium buildup and other unwanted material associated with tile installation and repair. That makes it useful during both regrouting and general cleanup around tile edges.
The co-molded handle combines plastic with a non-slip rubber grip. Because the tool is manual, the user can work gradually around tile edges and corners without the vibration produced by an oscillating or rotary power tool.
The 10020 is best for smaller repair jobs where control and simplicity are more important than maximum removal speed. It is inexpensive, requires no batteries or accessories and covers several grout widths in one tool.
