Protimeter MMS3 Overview

The Protimeter MMS3 is a professional multi-function moisture meter built for complete building diagnostics rather than one specific material. It combines direct pin measurement, non-invasive RF scanning, hygrometry and infrared surface-temperature measurement in a single handheld instrument.

This broad feature set makes the MMS3 relevant to fire and flood restoration, building surveys, home inspection, moisture mapping and flooring-related investigations. Pin and Non-Invasive Moisture Measurement

In pin mode, the MMS3 provides a 6% to 100% WME range, with readings above 30% treated as relative. This mode is useful when direct contact measurements are appropriate and a specific test point needs to be evaluated.

The RF non-invasive mode uses a relative 60–999 scale. Standard scanning reaches approximately 3/4 inch into the material, while the sensitivity mode can respond to moisture deeper in an assembly, up to approximately 5 inches depending on the material being tested.

The MMS3 can be used across wood, wood floors, drywall, concrete, masonry, plaster and other building materials. Non-invasive scanning can help locate moisture behind surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl flooring and fine finishes before more targeted measurements are taken.

The infrared function does not replace a full thermal camera, but it adds a useful non-contact temperature tool to the same moisture inspection workflow.

Data Logging for Professional Surveys

The MMS3 can store up to 10,000 records using manual or automatic logging. Results can include data from the instrument’s different measurement functions together with date and time information.

Bluetooth provides a live data stream to the Protimeter app, while logged data can also be processed through Protimeter software and viewed through a web interface. For professional reporting, this makes the MMS3 much easier to integrate into repeatable survey and restoration workflows than a basic handheld meter.

Color Display and Field Operation

A 2.4-inch 320 × 240 color TFT display provides access to the meter’s multiple functions. The interface is designed for one-handed use and includes multilingual support, firmware updates and adjustable display options.
